As global transportation electrification accelerates, electric vehicles are rapidly becoming the mainstream of road transport. Whether for urban buses, logistics fleets, or highway charging networks, drivers’ expectations for EV charging are continuously rising—they seek a charging experience as fast and convenient as refueling, yet stable and reliable.
In response, charging infrastructure is evolving from standalone chargers to high-power, intelligent system solutions. Against this backdrop, Kehua’s newly upgraded power unit was born—offering exceptional performance, flexible scalability, and intelligent management to ensure efficient and reliable charging operations.
Optimized Topology and Core Components for Higher Efficiency
The power unit is equipped with Kehua’s self-developed SiC high-efficiency charging modules, combined with an optimized high-efficiency topology design, achieving an overall efficiency of up to 96.5%. This enables an ideal balance between high power output and high efficiency.
Flexible Power Expansion to Meet Diverse Scenarios
The upgraded power unit offers two standard models—480kW and 800kW.
The 480kW series is downward compatible with 240kW, 360kW, and 400kW, meeting the needs of passenger vehicle fast charging, urban logistics, and medium-size electric buses.
The 800kW series is downward compatible with 600kW, 640kW, and 720kW.
Both support smooth field upgrades for future capacity expansion.
Through dual-cabinet parallel technology, power can be easily expanded from 960kW to 1.6MW, supporting flexible integration with air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and MCS charging dispensers. With maximum output current up to 250–1500A, it fully covers passenger EVs, commercial vehicles, megawatt-level heavy trucks, electric ships, and eVTOL aircraft—addressing the high-power demands of large-scale fast-charging stations.
Its modular and scalable design allows customers to adopt a progressive station construction strategy: start with a low initial investment and expand capacity later through additional modules or cabinets, achieving both power scalability and investment optimization.
Intelligent Power Management for Dynamic Optimization
The power unit features Dynamic Power Management Algorithm, which intelligently adjusts power distribution according to the number of vehicles and load conditions:
When fewer vehicles are charging, the system enters efficiency optimization mode, ensuring each module operates at its best efficiency point—improving overall efficiency by approximately 0.7% compared with conventional systems and reducing energy consumption.
When more vehicles are charging, it switches to power optimization mode, dynamically balancing module loads—improving total power utilization by up to 30% compared with the traditional first-come, first-served mode.
The 480kW series offers a minimum control granularity of 40kW, while the 800kW series offers 80kW, precisely matching diverse customer needs and application scenarios.
Thanks to its modular architecture and intelligent power routing with redundancy, even if a module fails, the system maintains stable, uninterrupted output—ensuring high availability and reliability for charging stations.
Enhanced Structural Reliability for Extreme Environments
As charging infrastructure expands globally, equipment must endure increasingly complex conditions—high salinity, humidity, heat, cold, altitude, and unstable grids. The upgraded power unit adopts IP55 dust-proof and waterproof protection and C4-H corrosion resistance, significantly improving environmental adaptability.
An innovative airflow design ensures that the 800kW power unit operates at full load with noise levels below 65dB at 25°C ambient temperature. With a wide operating temperature range of –30°C to 55°C, it can maintain full power output even at 50°C without derating.
Whether in mines, plateaus, ports, or coastal cities, the power unit delivers stable and reliable performance—providing strong technical assurance for high-efficiency charging in extreme environments.
Optimize O&M Management for More Effortless and Convenient Operations
As charging networks scale up, the demand for efficient and centralized operations grows. The upgraded power unit enables intelligent O&M functions such as remote configuration, smart monitoring, fault diagnosis, and OTA updates through a cloud-based monitoring platform or Web interface management tool.
Its hot-swappable power modules with power module address automatically setup enable true plug-and-play functionality, while the dust filter can be replaced in just five minutes, making daily maintenance effortless.
Internally, the cabinet adopts a componentized and modular structure, enabling streamlined assembly-line production, and shorter delivery cycles.
Modern Aesthetics that Balance Functionality and Style
The power unit features Kehua’s signature design language, with a minimalist black, white, and gray color scheme that exudes modernity and sophistication. The square body paired with smooth, rounded corners strikes a balance between stability and friendliness—creating an appearance that blends technological precision with human warmth, breaking away from the rigid image of traditional industrial equipment and reflecting Kehua’s refined brand aesthetics.
